Where Nordic nature, watercolor stories, and children’s imagination meet [GAP] confirm tagline

Marianne is a Norwegian children’s author, illustrator, and educator with a background in graphic communication and storytelling. She creates picture books that help children understand kindness, empathy, and big feelings — often with a sprinkle of gentle humor and a flock of quirky characters who don’t always behave as planned.

Her hand painted watercolor art is inspired by Scandinavian nature, everyday adventures, and the small emotional dramas that unfold in a child’s world. Through the growing Fimsie universe, she develops stories, activities, and artwork designed to support social emotional learning (SEL) in a warm, accessible way.

Whether she’s painting hens with opinions or crafting stories about belonging, Marianne’s goal is always the same: to help children feel seen, supported, and wonderfully themselves.
